Utopia

This piece represents a utopia where humans are gone, critical ecosystems are restored, and the Earth has reclaimed itself, no longer disintegrating because of climate change and overpopulation.

In this alternative reality, nature has grown over human development and recovered what was lost to urbanization. What may be a dystopia to humanity is a utopia for planet Earth. Using digital compositing has allowed me to create a fictitious reality distant from our own. By carefully piecing together individual images, I have crafted a beautiful world where animals peacefully coexist in harmony with the threat of humanity long extinct. After viewing this piece, I would like the viewer to think about how humans continue to negatively impact the Earth without concern. I would like the viewer to carefully consider how a world without humans could save our vulnerable and imperiled planet.
